CN caboose, WC 16, rests on former MILW rails at Hilbert, WI on 18 Oct. '17. The ghost of the WC logo is visible under the bay window. I was starting to worry about this caboose because I hadn't spotted it in its usual hiding places in Neenah, Menasha, or Oshkosh lately, so I was pleased to find it here. The water tower was repainted earlier this year, unfortunately they painted over the neat railroad scene which was once depicted on it. |

WC 16 |

CN caboose, WC 16, rests on former MILW rails at Hilbert, WI on 18 Oct. '17. I was starting to worry about this caboose because I hadn't spotted it in its usual hiding places in Neenah, Menasha, or Oshkosh lately, so I was pleased to find it here. The former MILW depot is partially visible background left. The stop sign on the main line in the background is mounted on a gate which protects the former SOO main line at Hilbert Junction. The MILW main line used to continue on to Green Bay, WI and points beyond. The active rails currently end between Crosstown Rd. and Ott Rd., where Lund Construction occasionally receives a freight car. The remains of the right-of-way to Green Bay is the Fox River State Trail. |

A CN local momentarily fouls the driveway as it prepares to depart LSC Communications, Inc. (formerly RR Donnelley, originally Banta Corp.), 800 Midway Rd., and head southwest via former MILW rails at Menasha, WI on 17 Dec. '17. LSC Communications was spun off from RR Donnelley ca. Nov. '16. I was thrilled to espy WC 16 bringing up the rear of the consist. It was awesome to see a former MILW caboose on former MILW rails, and I can't recall the last time I saw a caboose on a train. |

An interesting CN local parallels Pacific St. as it heads south via former MILW rails at Menasha, WI on 12 Aug. '18. Train consisted of two locomotives and a caboose. I was thrilled to espy WC 16 bringing up the rear of the consist. It was awesome to see a former MILW caboose on former MILW rails, and it isn't very often that I get to watch a caboose in a moving train. The 9th St. grade crossing is in the background. |
