CN 2562 and CN 2283
Title:  CN 2562 and CN 2283
Description:  After a halt at Stroebe (out-of-frame to left), a CN through freight crosses over from the former C&NW rails to the former SOO rails at Shawano Junction, WI on 3 Feb. '18. This spot used to be named Fox River Junction, after several segments of the original C&NW main line through Menasha and Neenah were removed and a turnout was installed here which allows the bypass of missing C&NW rails by using former SOO rails.

CN 2562 and CN 2283
Title:  CN 2562 and CN 2283
Description:  CN through freight passes Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 as it heads southwest via a remnant of the former C&NW main line (now relegated to a passing siding) at Neenah, WI on 3 Feb. '18. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. The former SOO main line, also in use by CN, is in the foreground. I had photographed this same train at Stroebe, WI two hours earlier.

Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible in the background. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. I had photographed this same train at Stroebe, WI two hours earlier. I am curious to learn where the new turnout (stacked in pieces between the tracks) will be installed.
