CN 2639
Title:  CN 2639
Description:  CN through freight crosses Winchester Rd. as it heads southeast via former SOO rails at Town of Menasha, WI on 28 Mar. '14. The divergence of rail lines at Winchester Rd., where one line heads northwest toward Stevens Point and the other line heads northeast toward Green Bay, used to be named Winnebago Junction. Train was coming from Stevens Point and was slowing to stop at the north end of the Neenah yard so it could reverse direction and continue on to Green Bay. It had two locomotives CN 2639 pulling and GTW 5944 pushing. Prolamina, which clearly receives rail service is partially visible on the left. The Hwy. 41 overpass is visible in the background.

CN 2639, CN 2248, GECX 9124
Title:  CN 2639, CN 2248, GECX 9124
Description:  A CN through freight approaches the Hwy. G overpass and parallels Hwy. 41 as it heads northeast via former SOO rails at Snells, WI on 27 Apr. '18. Snells, formerly known as Snell’s Station or Snell’s Crossing, is now little more than a map dot in the Town of Neenah, Winnebago Co. This small, rural community once included a post office, depot, cheese factory, sawmill, school, and stockyard. It does not look like any real remnants of the original community remain. Even the station sign, erected after the depot was removed, is gone. The former C&NW rails run parallel on the other side of the train.

CN 2639, UP 6742, BNSF 4200, CN 2411
Title:  CN 2639, UP 6742, BNSF 4200, CN 2411
Description:  A CN unit train of 3-bay covered hoppers parallels Hwy. 41 and approaches the Hwy. G overpass as it heads southwest via former SOO rails at Snells, WI on 20 May '18. Snells is now little more than a map dot in the Town of Neenah, Winnebago Co. A Post Office was established on 4 May 1876, originally called Snell’s Station, sometimes referred to as Snell’s Crossing. This once small, rural community included a depot, cheese factory, sawmill, school, and stockyard. It does not look like any substantial remnants of the community remain, even the station sign, erected after the depot was removed, is gone (it is not a station on the CN system map). The unit train of tank cars at right rests upon the former C&NW main line. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible in the background at left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished.
