A CN container train crosses Viaduct Rd. as it heads southeast via former C&NW rails at Van Dyne, WI on Memorial Day, 25 May '15. There used to be four sets of tracks at this grade crossing, now there are two. The former SOO main line is still active, out of frame to the left, only a few scraps of their passing siding that crossed this road remain. The Wisconsin Power & Light tracks crossed this road out of frame to the right and ran along the other side of the Community AG Services, Inc., feed mill. |

The covered hoppers spotted by the silos in the background are part of the Bemis facility on Marathon Ave., a rail customer on a remnant of the former C&NW main line (the rails at far left). Train had two locomotives, CN 2570 and CN 5728. I was walking westward along the overpass, hoping to make it far enough to shoot around the telephone pole, but didn't quite make it. |
