A CN through freight passes the former Byrd Ave. grade crossing and parallels Harrison St. as it transitions from the former SOO rails to the former C&NW rails at Neenah, WI, on 9 Aug. '20. Train had three locomotives, CN 2895 and CN 3841 pulling, as well as CN 8101 mid-train. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 loom in the background at right. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. |
