Description:
A trio of BNSF units lead a unit train of 2-bay covered hoppers approaching Kampo Rd. while headed southwest along Harrison St. via CN, former SOO, rails at Neenah, WI on 1 May '18. Train had three locomotives, led by BNSF 6696. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible at right. Plant 2 opened in 1960 dnd Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. The beige facility beyond that is Voith (Voith Paper Fabric & Roll Systems, Inc.). The silver silos beyond that belong to Bemis (formerly Curwood, Inc.). The former C&NW rails can be seen at right. A fellow railfan is visible at left.
