Looking at the southwest wall of the historic Neenah Stove Works, currently occupied by Hafemeister Machine Corp. and International Children's Fund at Neenah, WI, as seen on 6 Jun. ’15. I believe this façade is the original 1857 building, given the low height and cut-stone construction, as opposed to the brick construction and taller stories of the other sections of the building. The 1st floor windows and door appear too close to the ground and much too short, respectively. This is due to the fact that the current street-level is about 3 feet higher than it used to be. This industrial facility has a lengthy and interesting history, please refer to the album description for more detailed information. |
