Title:
CN 4704
Description:
CN local parallels Hwy. 41 and passes under Hwy. G as it services a couple of industries along the former C&NW main line at Snells, WI on 29 Aug. '15. Snells is now little more than a map dot in the Town of Neenah, Winnebago Co. A Post Office was established 4 May 1876, originally called Snell’s Station, sometimes referred to as Snell’s Crossing. This small, rural community once included a depot, cheese factory, sawmill, school, and stockyard. The former SOO main line is in the foreground. It does not look like any real remnants of the original community remain. Even the station sign, erected after the depot was removed, is gone.
