Description:
A CN through freight passes Kampo Rd. as it heads northeast via former SOO rails at Neenah, WI on 7 May '18. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible background left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. A remnant of the former C&NW main line, now relegated to a passing siding, is visible to the left.

Description:
A CN through freight approaches the W. Bell St. overpass as it heads northeast with 68 cars via former SOO rails at Neenah, WI, on 27 Jun. '21. Neenah's Southpark Industrial Center (industrial park is too plebeian for oft ostentatious Neenah) is partially visible in the background to the left. A remnant of the C&NW main line runs parallel on the other side of the tree line to the left of the train. The yellow silo in the background belongs to American Colloid Co., 901 Acco Ave., an active rail customer. The Hwy. G overpass can be seen in the background to the right.

Title:
CN 8913 and UP 8953
Description:
A pair of CN through freights meet near the Main St. overpass at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 3 Jan. '18. Train on the right was setting out and picking up cars. Train on the left had three locomotives, CN 8913 and UP 8953 pulling as well as CN 2284 mid-train. The guardrail next to the lead locomotive marks the former Sherry St. grade crossing. The WC (later SOO) depot was built on the north side of Sherry St. on the east side of the tracks in 1891. It replaced the ca. 1871 depot that stood at the west end of Wisconsin Ave. The Sherry St. depot was demolished ca. 1955 when a new depot was built between Main St. and N. Lake St. on the west leg of the wye, about 850 ft. to the northwest.
