'18. This spot used to be named Fox River Junction, after several segments of the original C&NW main line through Menasha and Neenah were removed and a turnout was installed here which allows the bypass of missing C&NW rails by using former SOO rails. Train had three locomotives, NS 8945, NS 1065, NS 2600. |

It was called Netticoat Junction ca. the '90s and Pete's Junction (possibly Palomino Pete's Junction) ca. the '70s. |

NS's Penn Central heritage unit leads a train southward via CN, former C&NW, rails parallel to S. Main St./Hwy. 45 and the west shore of Lake Winnebago at Oshkosh, WI on 25 Oct. '14. I wish I could have captured a better shot of this unique locomotive during its rare visit to this area, but I barely got out of my truck in time to snap this less-than-ideal shot after chasing the train from Medina Junction. |
