Title:
CN 3200, CEFX 1024, EMDX 1605
Description:
A CN through freight traverses the west leg of the wye at the north end of the former SOO yard at Neenah, WI on 23 Jun. '19. Train had four locomotives, CN 3200, CEFX 1024, EMDX 1605 pulling, as well as CN 3153 pushing. The lead locomotives are passing the remnants of the foundation from the ca. 1955 masonry SOO depot. There are rail sections supported by concrete blocks and railroad ties stacked upon it. It was built to replace the wooden depot built in 1891 on Sherry St., about 850 ft. to the southeast, which was torn down soon after the new one opened. Eggers Div. of VT Industries, previously Eggers Industries, founded as Hardwood Products Co. in 1910, 164 N. Lake St., an active rail customer, is visible in the background at left.

CEFX 1038
Description:
CEFX 1038 was idling away in an unusual spot on CN, former C&NW, rails near Kampo Rd. at Neenah, WI on 3 Feb. '18. It rests on the short siding which is used to service Neenah's Southpark Industrial Center. When I pulled up to park and shoot it, I noticed two carloads of other rail fans photographing this odd occurrence. The SOO rails, also in use by CN, are in the foreground. The W. Bell St. overpass is partially visible in the background.
