CN through freight crosses the Wolf River via the former SOO bridge as it heads southeast at Gills Landing, WI on 12 Aug. '14. The bridge was built as a swing bridge in 1894. A significant mechanical failure left the pivot inoperable from 2003 until the fall of 2011, when it was converted into a vertical lift bridge. According to bridgehunter.com, it "is likely the only vertical-lift bridge in the world with a center lift tower". |

A CN through freight crosses West St. as it heads southeast via former SOO rails at Milladore (originally Mill Creek), WI, on 20 Oct. '21. Train had thee locomotives, CN 8830, CN 2303, and CN ?. I believe the depot stood between the tracks and Main St./Hwy. P (formerly Hwy. 10), between Haynes St. and Wheeler St. It now rests on a farm on the other side of West St. and to the left of the tracks. St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Post Office stand to the right. |
