CN 3029, CN 2856 |
Description: |
A CN through freight parallels Broad St. as it rounds a slight curve and approaches Waugoo Ave. while headed southwest via former C&NW rails at Oshkosh, WI on 24 Dec. '16. Train had three locomotives, CN 3029, CN 2856, ?? 2982. The former C&NW depot is partially visible in the background. Built by the Chicago firm of Clark & Fuller in 1884 on Broad St. between Washington Ave. and Merritt Ave. at a cost $15,000, it opened on 1 Dec. ’84. The last passenger train, the Peninsula “400,” departed on 31 Jun. ’71. Currently used by Clarity Care. I was hoping to get a full view of the south end of the depot in the shot, but the camera’s automatic focus feature did not do its job at the exact moment I hoped it would. |
