CN local parallels Thilmany Rd. while servicing the Expera Specialty Solutions (originally Shilmany Pulp and Paper Co.) paper mill on the banks of the Fox River via former C&NW rails at Kaukauna, WI on 5 Jun. '17. Looking northeast along Thilmany Rd. Thilmany Rd. used to continue past me to the right to connect to Catherine St., now it curves to the left and connects to what was Stribley Rd. to connect to Catherine St. It appears that the remnants of Stribley Rd. and Thilmany Rd. will now just be referred to as the latter. Portions of both roads were altered or removed during the restoration of the original Thilmany mill (behind me) and the creation of its new parking lot. |

CN local crosses what used to be Stribley Rd. and parallels Thilmany Rd. and the Fox River as it services the Expera Specialty Solutions paper mill via former C&NW rails at Kaukauna, WI on 20 Jun. '17. From its founding in 1883 until 26 Jun. '13, the Kaukauna paper mill was Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co. (a.k.a. Thilmany, LLC or Thilmany Papers). What used to be Stribley Rd. is now just a driveway to the trailer storage lot. It appears that the remnants of Stribley Rd. and Thilmany Rd. will now just be referred to as the latter. Portions of both roads were altered or removed during the restoration of the original Thilmany mill (out of frame to left) and the creation of its new parking lot. |

CN local parallels N. Lake St. and passes the ongoing reconstruction of the Hwy. 41/Hwy. 10/Hwy. 441 (a.k.a. Tri-County Expressway) interchange (a.k.a. the Polish Connection) as it heads northeast via former C&NW rails at Stroebe, WI on 23 Dec. '17. Stroebe is a railroad station in Fox Crossing, WI (formerly Town of Menasha, Winnebago Co., WI until 14 Apr. '16 (not Outagamie Co., where Stroebe was erroneously placed on this site)). The interchange opened to traffic on 30 Nov. '75. When Hwy. 10 was reconstructed and relocated ca. '97, this interchange was not simultaneously reconstructed to form a full interchange, but the ongoing, extensive expansion and reconstruction will make it a full interchange as well as increase traffic capacity. Train was headed for Appleton, Little Chute, and Kaukauna. |
