After a brief halt, a CN through freight, powered by a pair of sequentially numbered locomotives, pulls out past the former SOO depot to continue westward from Stevens Point, WI on 19 May '15. The depot was designed in the Prairie School Style by Christian Madsen and built at 1625 Depot St. in 1918 by his Withee Construction Co. Stevens Point was originally known as Shaurette Rapids. |

Train had two locomotives, CN 8882 and CN 2261. The silo of American Colloid Co., 901 Acco Ave., an active rail customer, is visible in the background at left. The Hwy. G overpass can also be seen in the distance. The former SOO main line runs parallel beyond the tree line at right. |

A CN unit train of autoracks parallels Harrison St. (just out-of-frame to the left) as it heads northeast via a remnant of the C&NW main line, now relegated to a passing siding, at Neenah, WI on 15 Jun. '19. The former SOO main line runs parallel along this side of the train. At left, a woodchuck stands erect to watch traffic pass by on Harrison St. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible in the background. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. |
