| CN local crosses Oviatt St. while approaching Lawe St./Hwy. 55/Hwy. 96 as it heads southeast via former C&NW rails at Kaukauna, WI on 8 Jul. '17. They are descending the grade from the main line down to the banks of the Fox River in order to service the large Expera Specialty Solutions paper mill. From its founding in 1883 until 26 Jun. '13, the Kaukauna paper mill was Thilmany Pulp and Paper Co. (a.k.a. Thilmany, LLC or Thilmany Papers). Looking northeast from the intersection of Oviatt St. and Seymour St. I was able to capture this image by simply rotating about 75 degrees to the right from where I was standing to shoot the previous photograph of this local bisecting the intersection of Desnoyer St. and Seymour St. |
