IC 9601
CN local parallels Harrison St. as it crosses over from the remnants of the former C&NW mainline to the former SOO mainline at the south end of the yard at Neenah, WI on 10 Aug. '14. Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are partially visible on the left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. I presume the train, with about 40 cars, was returning from a trip to Fond du Lac.

Dave Howarth Jr. General This train in particular was a yard job that headed south to the Dixie siding to retrieve these cars that were either dropped by a roadfeight or just pulled out of the yard to more room. I have seen this done on several occasions with cars sometimes reaching over 80 with a single unit doing all the work...sometimes very very slowly 9/26/2014 12:19:52 PM
T. P. Bruss General Thank you for the clarification Dave Howarth Jr., I do appreciate it. 10/13/2014 3:39:40 AM
