| CN local approaches Stroebe Rd. as it pulls onto the former C&NW mainline while heading northeast at Stroebe, WI on 17 Mar. '14. It is difficult to tell from this angle, but the train was crossing over from the former SOO main to the former C&NW passing siding at Milepost 211. Train had pulled onto the SOO rails at Shawano Junction to allow a through freight to head southwest via the C&NW main. Normally the local could have waited on the C&NW passing siding, but a long string of cars had been spotted there for several days (that string of cars is visible curving to the left in the background). Local was headed for Appleton, Little Chute, and Kaukauna. |
