A CN container train parallels Harrison St. (out-of-frame to the left) and approaches Kampo Rd. as it heads southwest via former SOO rails at Neenah, WI, on 18 Jun. '20. Train had two locomotives, CN 3263 pulling and CN 8913 pushing. A remnant of the former C&NW main line, now relegated to a passing siding, runs parallel to the right. The smoke stacks of Neenah Foundry Plant 2 & Plant 3 are visible above the train to the left. Plant 2 opened in 1960 and Plant 3 was built in 1967. Plant 1 opened in 1918 and stood about a mile to the north, until it was closed in 1994 and eventually demolished. |
